Walking Through History: A Weekend in Washington, DC

There’s something quietly transformative about Washington, DC. A weekend here feels like pressing pause - time to wander, reflect, and soak in the city’s history, art, and energy.

Lifestyle

From iconic landmarks to hidden corners, quiet gardens to lively museums, Washington, DC offers moments to slow down, to notice the small details and to feel connected to something bigger than ourselves - history, art, nature, the rhythm of everyday life and unexpected moments of joy.

We started off our weekend with a stroll by the United States Capitol. The sight of its iconic dome and the intricate details: columns, statues, and carvings that tell centuries of political history left me feeling both awe and calm.

We took a trip from Washington, DC to Virginia to visit the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum, and it was incredible. The enormous hangars with historic planes below and massive aircraft suspended overhead, left us in awe and reminded us how far aviation and space travel have come.
